In the beginning of the month, we learned that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had selected Phillippa Craddock as the official florist for their big day. And in the latest royal wedding news, we've just learned that the couple will be working with Craddock to design custom floral arrangements that pay a sweet and sentimental tribute to the Prince's late mother, Princess Diana.

According to People, the pair has chosen to use white garden roses in the bouquets and flower arrangements that will fill St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, where the pair will tie the knot on May 19th.

The choice is sentimental by design, as white garden roses were Princess Diana's favorite flower. Just last summer, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the late Princess's death, a temporary garden was opened at Kensington Palace. Named the "White Garden," the tribute display included a large assortment of white roses.

According to reports, in addition to white roses, the royal wedding flowers will also incorporate "peonies and foxgloves, as well as branches of beech, birch and hornbeam for the chapel's floral displays."

Craddock revealed that the process has been quite collaborative. “Working with them has been an absolute pleasure," the florist told People. "The process has been highly collaborative, free-flowing, creative and fun. The final designs will represent them as a couple, which I always aim to achieve in my work, with local sourcing, seasonality and sustainability being at the forefront."

In addition to the floral decor, Harry has already incorporated his mother in his wedding journey, in designing Markle's engagement ring with two stones from Diana's personal collection.

“I think everything about Harry’s thoughtfulness is – and the inclusion of that and obviously not being able to meet his mom it’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us,” Markle said of her ring during the couple’s engagement interview in November.
